My Expertise
Research
I conduct interdisciplinary research at the intersection of fisheries, climate change, gender, and socio-ecological systems. My work combines scientific evidence with local knowledge to develop inclusive strategies that strengthen environmental sustainability, resilient livelihoods, and equitable resource governance.
Mentorship
I am passionate about mentoring the next generation of researchers by fostering intellectual curiosity, research excellence, and collaborative learning. Through supervision and guidance, I help students develop the skills and confidence needed to make meaningful contributions to science and society.
Outreach
I believe impactful research extends beyond academia. By collaborating with communities, governments, international organizations, and development partners, I promote knowledge exchange that supports evidence-based policies and sustainable solutions for fisheries and coastal communities.
Core Research Pillars
Analyzing the complex intersection of environmental change and community governance, I leverage empirical field data and structured socio-ecological frameworks to build lasting coastal resilience.
Climate Adaptation
Modeling ecological shifts and developing localized adaptation strategies for fisherfolk facing rapid environmental changes
Gender Equity
Integrating gender-disaggregated data into coastal resource management to ensure inclusive decision-making and equitable resource distribution
Coastal Resilience
Synthesizing traditional ecological knowledge with policy-relevant science to protect vulnerable ecosystems and coastal communities
Global Policy Impact
Translating complex field observations into actionable insights for international institutions, ensuring small-scale fisheries are represented in global policy frameworks.
